ice-cube-lo.jpgIce Cube and Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst are expected to team up for an inspirational sports drama called Comeback. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film tells the story of a small Illinois town that rallies behind the 11-year-old female quarterback of the local Pop Warner football team. Comeback is based on the actual experiences of Jasmine Plummer, the first female player in the Pop Warner league’s history. Ice Cube will play the girl’s uncle, a former high-school football player who helps the team make it to the Pop Warner Super Bowl. Durst is currently in negotiations to direct. Nick Santora, a writer and executive producer of the TV series Prison Break, read an article about Plummer five years ago and ended up buying the rights to her story. After unsuccessfully shopping the idea for years, he eventually caught up with Ice Cube, who in turn brought the project to Dimension Films.
