biggiechain21.jpgAccording to the Associated Press, on Friday, August 24, former LAPD internal affairs chief, Michael Berkow, was dropped as a defendant in a lawsuit that claimed he ordered warrantless searches of the work areas of detectives investigating the Notorious B.I.G.’s murder. Berkow was dismissed from the case because according to a Superior Court judge, he no longer works for the LAPD. Berkow was sued in March of 2007 by the Police Protective League for allegedly ordering the search of 35 homicide detective’s desks, including those who were working on Biggie’s case. The Wallace estate has continually argued that rogue LAPD officers were involved in Biggie’s tragic murder on March 9, 1997.
