Lil Wayne and Ja Rule were both arrested in New York City last night on weapons possession charges in two separate incidents. According to the Associated Press, Ja Rule was traveling in a luxury vehicle with two other unidentified men on Manhattan’s West End Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. when officers pulled them over for speeding. A search of the vehicle turned up an illegal .40 caliber handgun. An hour later, officers spotted Weezy and another man smoking marijuana near a tour bus on 61st Street and Columbus Avenue. When police searched them, they also found an illegal .40 caliber pistol. Wayne had performed at the Beacon Theater on Broadway and 74th Street earlier in the evening. It is unclear whether or not Ja joined him during the performance. The two rappers recently shot a video in Harlem, NY for their single “Uh-Oh,” which will appear on Ja’s new album, The Mirror.
