Kanye West Launches Benefit Concert

The Kanye West Foundation will hold its Inaugural Benefit Concert next month in order to raise money for their Loop Dreams Teacher Training Institute. The concert will be held at Chicago’s House of Blues on August 24 and will feature a full performance from Kanye, who will be joined by surprise celebrity guests. ‘Ye will perform tracks from his upcoming album, Graduation, and will give a sneak peak at this Glow In The Dark tour, which launches this fall. The fundraising event is geared towards the Loop Dreams Teacher Training Institute, which will provide training for Chicago public school teachers interested in using hip-hop to increase literacy and motivate children to stay in school. The Kanye West Foundation looks to open the institute in the Spring of 2008. “Kanye is committed to excellence through education and establish Loop Dreams as the first signature initiative of his foundation,” says ‘Ye’s mother, Dr. Donda West.
