Rev. Run Honored as BMI Icon

Rev. Run, one third of the legendary hip-hop group Run-DMC, will be honored as a BMI Icon at the performing right organizations 7th Annual Urban Awards this fall. The event will take place on September 7 at The New York New York in Las Vegas, NV. The Icon award is given out yearly to an artist whose had “a unique and indelible influence on a generation of music makers.” Rev. Run has been chosen as this year’s artist and will be honored during a special ceremony at the BMI Urban Awards. Run will join former Icon award winners such as James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Al Green, Charlie Wilson and The Gap Band, Little Richard and Chuck Berry.
