tech-n9ne.jpgSince releasing his 1999 debut album, The Calm Before the Storm (Mekah West Records), Kansas City rapper, Tech N9ne, has been one of the underground’s most successful artists. The past eight years, Tech has released six independent albums, selling a total of 650,000 copies. Last year, Tech released the critically acclaimed, Everready (The Religion), on his Strange Music imprint, selling over 95,000 copies. Now the enigmatic MC will drop a new collaborative album, Misery Loves Kompany, on July 17. “I took a chance, like I love to do, by not sticking to the everyday, crazy, hardcore Tech N9ne Stuff,” says Tech. “I went and go some Southern style beats and it worked.” Misery Loves Kompany pairs Tech with a variety of MCs, such as Yukmouth, Big Scob, Kut Calhoun and others. “There’s a lot of stuff on this album,” Tech says. “It’s a variety. It’s not just sexual. It’s not just party. It’s just like the normal Tech N9ne rollercoaster. There’s something on there for everybody.”
