foxy-11.jpgNew York City police say Foxy Brown was robbed of a Louis Vuitton handbag in a Brooklyn housing project early Saturday morning. According to the New York Post, Foxy has denied that she was the victim of a crime and blamed the story on a case of mistaken identity. The NYPD says that four people took the rapper’s handbag—which contained $500 in cash, credit cards and her hearing aid—near the Louis H. Pink Houses at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The police have taken one woman in custody, 23 year-old Roshawn Anthony, and charged her with first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. When the Post approached Foxy outside of her Brooklyn home on Saturday (June 23), she told a reporter that she wasn’t in the area at the time.

“I have friends all over Brooklyn but I was not there last night,” she said. “I just got back this morning from Miami. A lot of the time, people mistake me for someone else, or people always call in these false tips.” Authorities insist that the controversial rap star was in fact the victim, and say that they are still looking for the other three suspects. The New York Daily News tells a slightly different account of the events. According to the Daily News story, Foxy had attended a party at the Pink Houses with a boyfriend that she then broke up with later in the evening. A police source told the newspaper that the man then called another group of women to attack Foxy, and she subsequently filed a police report and identified Anthony as one of her attackers.
