Quick News on Nas, Omillio Sparks and Slip-N-Slide Records
Former Roc-A-Fella Records artist, Omillio Sparks, has signed a three-year distribution deal with KOCH Records for his record label, Colossal Entertainment. The State Property member will release his debut solo album, The Payback, on KOCH this July. The album will feature guest appearances by Freeway, Peedi Peedi and Jaguar Wright. Sparks claims he was offered the opportunity to re-sign with Roc-A-Fella after Beanie Sigel returned to the label, but he has decided not to reunite with Jay-Z and his former running mates. Besides concentrating on his label, Sparks is also in the lab working with Beanie Sigel on his album, The Solution, and the State Property 3 album.
Miami based label, Slip-N-Slide Records, which is home to artists such as Trina, Rick Ross and Trick Daddy, has announced the signing of rapper Dirtbag. Previously signed to producers Cool & Dre’s record label, Epidemic Records, Dirtbag gained modest notoriety in the South with his single, “Haters.” But now with Slip-N-Slide Records backing him, Dirtbag looks to take the next step in his career. “There’s no time to celebrate,” Dirtbag says. “We can celebrate when I go platinum. I feel like Terrell Owens right now getting signed to this team. I got to make some things happen.”
