chuck-d1.jpgChuck D of Public Enemy was honored on Saturday, May 19 at his hometown library in Roosevelt, Long Island. According to Newsday.com, library board president, Natalie Connor, honored Chuck D for his 20 years in the music industry and his effort to help raise $2.5 million for a new cultural arts performance center. The event on Saturday night raised $16,000. “This is only the first step towards raising the $2.5 million needed,” Connor said.

S&S Entertainment will host Crunkfest 2007: The 5 Year Anniversary Concert at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee on July 21. Performing at this years event will be Lil’ Wayne, Birdman, Lil’ Boosie, 8ball & MJG, Jibbs, Huey, DJ Unk and Yo Gotti. The Roots and Lupe Fiasco will headline Northwestern University’s annual Dillo Concert on Saturday, May 26. According to The Daily Northwestern, The Roots were added this week as a last-minute replacement for rock group, Motion City Soundtrack, who dropped out of the concert. The Dillo Concert is a yearly tradition for Northwestern University, organized by the Mayfest student group, which takes places the Saturday before Memorial Day.

    for 20 years chuck has been the prophet of rap, and if the media werent to scared to publicise what he says, alot more people would be listening and have a different view towards hip hop. unfortuantely alot of these young unintelligent rappers are fuckin up rap.
