h20-festival.jpgThe fifth annual Hip-Hop Odyssey International Film Festival will take place from May 28 to June 15 at the ImaginAsian Theatre in New York City. The event, which takes place over three weeks, will screen over 80 films from 10 countries. Some of the films include Rock the Bells, Wu: The Story of the Wu-Tang, HipLife: Hip-Hop in Ghana and Frekeunsia Colombiana, Beyond Beats and Rhymes and Bling: A Planet Rock. In addition to the movie screenings, the festival will hold a nine panel discussion regarding hip-hop, social injustices and media distribution. Pharoahe Monch, M1 of dead prez and producer QD3 are just some of hip-hop figures speaking. The film festival then concludes with the Odyssey Awards. Hosted by Power 105’s Ed Lover and comedian Paul Mooney, the show will honor legendary hip-hop groups such as Crash Crew, Cold Crush and Public Enemy.
