Busta Rhymes To Appear In Court Today

Busta Rhymes will appear in a New York City court today to face two assault charges. In the first charge, prosecutors claim he beat up his former driver, Edward Hatchett, on December 26, 2006 after the two had a dispute over money. In the second charge, Busta is accused of assaulting a fan after performing at the AmsterJam Music Festival on Randalls Island on August 12, 2006. Busta’s appearance in court today comes at a bad time, as he was also arrested on drunk driving charges last Thursday (May 3). Police claim the rapper failed a Breathalyzer test during a traffic stop on the west side of Manhattan. The incident was Busta’s fourth brush with the law in the last nine months.
