Timbaland’s Single Soars on the Charts

timbo1.jpgHaving already grabbed the No. 5 spot on the Billboard 200 chart this week with his new LP Shock Value, Timbaland continues his winning streak with his single “Give It To Me.” The song, which features pop artists Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, soared 42 spots to land at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart. The impressive jump came as a result of 248,000 digital downloads during its first week in stores. The only artist to count more downloads is Timberlake himself, who racked up 250,000 downloads of his single “Sexyback” last September. Timbo’s chart jump will go down as the second largest in Billboard’s history, second only to Kelly Clarkson, whose single “A Moment Like This” went from No. 52 to No. 1 in a single week.
