New Rock The Bells DVD Features Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s Final Performance

rtb1.jpgSince it’s inception in 2003, the annual Rock The Bells concert has featured some of the best hip-hop acts in the world, including, KRS-One, Redman, Mos Def, Lauryn Hill, Busta Rhymes and others. The most memorable concert, however, came in 2004 when the Wu-Tang Clan reunited on stage. That performance would ultimately be the late great Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s final show with the Wu. In order to celebrate that event, Rock The Bells is releasing a new self-titled DVD of the concert this July. The DVD features behind the scene footage of what went into planning the show. The disc will also feature performances from Redman, Dilated Peoples and others. The film premiers today (April 11) to a select audience at the Pioneer Theater in New York City. There is no set date for the DVD’s release, but it will hit stores this July.
