COVER STORY

LOOK AT ME
As the most explosive member of his label, YOUNG BUCK is ready to play nice. And with disappointing record sales across the board, G-Unit’s “Clean-Up Man” is primed and in place to prove that hip-hop really does live in the South.

Features

THIS AIN’T THAT
Straight from the ’burbs, CRIME MOB might not be as hood as they seem. Find out how they spun their innocent beginnings into a believable hip-hop image.

I TRIED
While MIMS’ single attempts to rekindle the East’s fire, the Big Apple hasn’t been eager to embrace him. Maybe they don’t understand why he’s hot, yet.

LIKE ME
It’s been three years since FABOLOUS’ last album, but with a new label behind him and some recent controversy, the quiet BK MC is ready to get back on the mic.

HOLD ON
With the bust of DJ DRAMA and DJ CANNON, is the mixtape game over, or will it still be trudging on?

I’M RIDIN’
By day, FUNKMASTER FLEX is a major company spokesman, TV host and serious car aficionado. By night, he’s the hardest working veteran DJ in hip-hop. Which one is his future?

I have to give y’all mad props at XXL for puttin’ one of the realest gangster rappers on the cover of the greatest hip-hop magazine on Earth. Young Buck deserves the crown of the south because his real, his not talkin’ about snappin’ his fingers or non-of that bullshit, his stickin’ straight to the real nigga subject, hustlin’, keepin’ his rep & livin’ up to his word. Buck is a loyal soldier, and I give him my respect for stayin’ loyal to the unit, because that’s what being a true nigga is all about!!

young buck is garbage!…so is g-unit.

  • Lost

Buck is a real nigga, but sometimes real niggas even play themselves. G-Unit is about done. Ain’t nobody checking for them anymore. 50 Cent gon’ do his numbers, but the rest of them ain’t gon’ make it if 50 don’t let them do what they want to do. Buck could be a platinum artist if he applies himself to his work. Yayo really disappointed me with that trash “Thoughts Of A “Pitiful” Felon”. Hip hop is dying because artists aren’t their own artist, they’re the label’s artist. And on some street shit, I’m not shitting on Cashville niggas, but there’s a lot more bloods in the rap game,in the streets and in cashville than cashville niggas in cashville. So he ain’t spooking nobody, looking like dude that played Jesus from “The Passion Of The Christ” GGGGGGGGG-UNOT!!! WOLFE X NIGGAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHITOWN, SHOUT OUT TO MY BABY MOMMA ROSE GOLD, MARX WEST

  • http://XXLMag.com AJ Hendrix

When can Lupe Fiasco get some love and be bigger feature in the mag? I mean, I buy XXL every month and all I hear artist say is, “Lupe is going hard right now.” And to say Hip-Hop is dead, we the consumer have brought that upon ourselves. All about “Gangster Rap” and let MC’s like Lupe, Common, Talib, and Mos Def just fall by the way side because ther are not “Real” enough. People need to start showing support for these MC’s or Hip-Hop is DEAD!
