Scarface Signs New Group, Green City

Houston legend and Geto Boys member, Scarface, has signed a new group — Green City — to his Underground Railroad record label. Green City hails from Killen, TX, and is comprised of seven members — Spark Dawg, Mike Hee, Yung Texxus, MJ, Big Spade, J. Scott and G-Ni. Scarface discovered the group while working out at his local gym. Two boxers were playing Green City’s music, which prompted ‘Face to inquire about the group. Two weeks later, ‘Face signed Green City to his record label. “They [Green City] are on some different shit, something you’ve never heard before,” Scarface says. “I stepped out of the box for Green City ‘cause they bring a new flavor. They have the best presentation I have ever seen for a group trying to get signed.” Green City’s debut album, Brand New Money, will be released on June 19. Their first single, “Like A Porn Star (Party Like A Rock Star),” features Mannie Fresh. “Working with ‘Face, it was kind of unbelievable,” says group member Mike Hee. “I thought I would never meet him. He is the King of the South and for him to have our back was like him giving us a G pass to anywhere.”
