Washington Heights, NY rapper MIMS soared to the top of the U.S. singles chart on Thursday when his hit record "This Is Why I'm Hot" took the no. 1 spot. The runaway hit jumped 31 spots, the third largest jump in the Billboard 100's history, trailing behind R&B artists Kelly Clarkson and Rhianna. The track is also sitting on top of the Hot Digital Songs chart with 135,000 downloads to date, as well as the Hot Ringmasters chart with over 450,000 purchases in four weeks. "This Is Why I'm Hot" has been doing fairly well on radio for a couple of months now, but has had incredible success in the recent weeks. MIMS' debut album for Capitol Records Music Is My Savior, hits stores on March 27.
