Universal Music Publishing Group today announced the signing of Eminem to an exclusive worldwide administration agreement. The deal will encompass recordings from Em’s greatest hits compilation Curtain Call, Eminem Presents: The Re-Up, songs he co-wrote with 50 Cent on The Massacre, and any new songs he records in the future. Although details of the deal have not been disclosed, a music publishing company typically oversees copyright administration for their artists and handles royalty payment and distribution. “Eminem is an icon for millions of music fans around the globe,” said David Renzer, Chairman and CEO of UMPG. “His success as a writer and producer for both his own records as well as other artists continues to grow. We are honored that Eminem and his representatives have chosen Universal Music Publishing Group as their new home.” UMPG is a division of Universal Music Group and owns or administers publishing for artists such as 50 Cent, Ludacris, Ice Cube and DMX.
