Mark Pitts Named President of Zomba Label Group

zomba_logo.jpgBarry Weiss, President of the Zomba Label Group, has named music executive Mark Pitts as the new President of Urban Music for the company. Pitts, who started his career at Bad Boy under Sean “Diddy” Combs, is a 15 year veteran of the music industry. In 2004, Pitts left Arista Records to join Zomba as an A&R executive and in that capacity he oversaw projects for Usher, Chris Brown, Ciara and Kelis before being promoted to Senior Vice President. “We’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Mark for the past three years, said Weiss. “His ear for talent combined with his business sense is a rare combination which puts ZLG at a great advantage. I look forward to his continuing contributions to Zomba’s success.” The Zomba Label Group is made up of several record labels including Jive, LaFace, and So So Def.

In a industry were a&r’s change like the speed of cars, Mark Pitts is the prime canidate for the position of President at Zomba Label Group. He has 15 years in the game at a position that some can only last a year, if they are lucky. Some people really dont understand the hard grind it takes to stay in this game of music. Trends seems to change everyday. that’s why someone like Mark Pitts is very important to a Major company rather it is Zomba,Universal, ect. Because he brings knowlege and the ability to find and sign hit makers. To some you think that sounds easy, but beleive me it is not. I speak from experience myself im a music manager I have been in the game for about 5-6 years now. It took that long for people to figure out who the hell I was, from hard hussling and grinding.(“The Game Is To Be Sold And Not Told.”)That’s what an O.G. told me along time ago yo dig.Mr. Berry Weiss I think you made a great choice in Mr. Mark Pitts.Mr. Berry Weis if you have any a&r positions open I would love to be part of the team. To all the artist out looking for a deal my advice to you is to stay on your grind, create a buzz about yourself so that the a&r in the record company comes looking for you. You can do that several ways one is by getting your music out there on your own. Two doing showcases(The ones that are creditable.) Do research on the ones your interested in.Last but not lease keep God first(Higher Power) what ever you choose to call it. Also if there is anyone looking for management please hit me up at i would love to hear from you. Big up to Mark Pitts do your thing sir!
