Weapons posession charges that were brought against G-Unit members Lloyd Banks and Young Buck back in 2005 were dropped today, according to a report from the Associated Press. The charges were filed against the two rappers in August of 2005 after officers stopped a minivan that Banks and Buck were riding in shortly after their performance at Madison Square Garden as part of Eminem and 50 Cent’s Anger Management 3 tour. According to the police, the van ran a red light and a subsequent search of the vehicle turned up an unlicensed loaded handgun. According to Barbara Thompson, a spokesperson for the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, prosecutors asked that the charges be dropped after an investigation determined that neither of the two men possessed the firearm. Thompson also stated that another person who was riding in the van that night has pled guilty and a fourth man is under indictment. Lloyd Banks commented, “This whole experience reminds me of the title of my new album Rotten Apple“
