littles.jpgOn December 6th, the First Annual Urban DVD Awards ceremony will be held in New York City at Club Avalon. The Awards, which are the brainchild of Queensbridge native Littles and New York party promoter Mook Diamond, will honor the people who create and market urban DVDs, as well as pioneers in the field. Categories include Best DVD Documentary, Most Consistent Artist On A DVD and The Pusher Award (Most Consistent in Sales). The nominees, chosen by top DVD distributors, retailers and reviewers, include well-known titles such as All Access, The Raw Report and The Come Up. Nominees were selected based on retail sales, store requests, re-orders and critic picks. DJ Enuff of New York's Hot 97 will host the awards.

Immediately after the ceremony, the New Big East concert will take place, featuring an array of up-and-coming East Coast artists, including Saigon, Tru Life, Maino, Stack Bundles, Red Café, Jae Millz, Grafh, J-Hood, Uncle Murder and Stimuli. Littles, who is also organizing the concert, commented, "Ultimately, our intention with 'The Artist To Watch' campaign is to bring together the hottest emerging artists in each market and use this platform to show radio that these artists, who they're ignoring on their airwaves, have an audience." Littles and Mook intend to eventually hold similar concerts in other regions of the country in order to highlight artists from those areas as well.
