Prodigy and Alchemist Arrested on Weapons Charges

Prodigy of Mobb Deep and producer The Alchemist were arrested early this morning in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood after cops pulled over the SUV they were riding in and found a .22 caliber handgun. According to the New York Post, the pair was stopped after they drove the wrong way up 9th Avenue and then made a u-turn in order to obtain a parking space. When police approached the vehicle, they reportedly saw Prodigy attempting to conceal something in the SUV's center console. A search of the vehicle turned up the illegal firearm, and both men were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon. They were both arraigned later on this morning and released, Alchemist on his own recognizance and Prodigy after posting bail in the amount of $7500.
