Andre 3000 Joins Cast of The Battle in Seattle

andre.jpgAccording to a report in Hollywood trade magazine Variety, Andre “3000″ Benjamin of OutKast has joined the cast of the upcoming film The Battle In Seattle alongside Academy Award Winner Charlize Theron. The film’s storyline, which will weave the experiences of different characters together in a manner similar to the film Crash, takes place during the 1999 World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle. During the controversial event, an estimated 40,000 anti-globalization protestors from across the globe descended on Seattle to protest the organization and its agenda. The protests quickly deteriorated into an all out riot and the city suffered millions of dollars in damages. The Battle In Seattle will serve as the directorial debut of Irish actor Stuart Townsend, and will also star Woody Harrelson and Ray Liotta.
