DMX Pulls Out of USO Tour

dmx5.jpgThe USO (United Service Organization) announced yesterday that at the last minute DMX pulled out of a scheduled tour of Iraq and Kuwait. According to the USO, the rapper was scheduled to depart for Kuwait on August 22, however, he delayed the departure until the August 23. When the date arrived, DMX failed to arrive on time for his flight. John Hanson, senior vice president for marketing and communications, noted that the organization went to extraordinary lengths to put the trip together in a fraction of the time usually allotted for such a tour. “Typically, it takes up to 45 days to arrange transportation, housing, production assistance and country clearances for entertainment tours,” Hanson said in a statement. “This tour was put together in just under two weeks, because we know how much service men and women appreciate his performances. Mr. Simmons let a lot of people down.” According to the USO, the rapper offered no explanation as to why he declined to fulfill his commitment.

    Speaking as a DMX fan and a military member out here in this hot ass dessert in support of our countries war on terrorism I can tell you that “X” not showing did nothing but lower the morale of thousands of men and woman. We were shocked to find out that he was even scheduled by the military because the military top brass is so conservative in fact when we were informed that the show was cancelled many people assumed that the military cancelled it. I am stationed approximately 2 hours away from the area where the concert was to take place, at first I thought about making that drive but I just knew this fucka wasn’t going to show. A few of my partna’s went and were of course upset. Dude don’t show up for big time TV events I don’t know what made these cats believe he’d make it out here in this 130 + degree weather. Its like Maya Angelou says ” Believe someone when they tell you who they are.”

    If they real brothers they would not have they ass over there in the first place. Maybe the reason the USO don’t schedule a lot of Black artist is because that shit ain’t for Blacks! You ever think of that Einstein??? Just because some delusional brothers sold out to go and fight the u.s. government’s fabricated war doesn’t mean that true Black artist should feel obligated to go over and entertain them. I am sure Garth Brooks or Faith Hill will do the job. Crack head or not, he has gained some respect from me due to his recent actions.
