chingo.jpgMexican-American rapper Chingo Bling recently announced that he has inked a distribution deal with Asylum Records for his Big Chile Enterprises. The deal ends months of negotiations with various major labels. “I passed on all the TLC deals. I wasn’t in the mood for no Toni Braxton deal. I wanted the Cash Money, No Limit, Ray Charles type deal,” Chingo said in a statement. “They brought out the big check books, so I’m still independent but with distribution.” The Houston native, who is known for his unique blend of humor and D.I.Y. spirit, joins a slew of other Texas rappers on Asylum, including Paul Wall, Bun B, Mike Jones, Pimp C and Trae. Chingo is currently recording his major label debut, Welcome to the Border, which he expects to be in stores before the end of 2006.
