Rick Ross Sets Ringtone Sales Record

Def Jam Records recently announced that Miami rapper Rick Ross has officially sold over one million units of the ringtone for his hit “Hustlin’.” The R.I.A.A. certification, which will be awarded at least a full week before Ross’s debut Port of Miami hits stores on August 8th, marks the first time an artist has had a platinum selling mastertone before the release of the accompanying album. “Ringtones are an amazing gateway to connecting with fans,” says Ross. “They really are the next level. It’s a beautiful thing that ‘Hustlin’’ is ringing on a million phones right now.”
