biggiechain.jpgThe family of slain rapper Notorious B.I.G. is seeking to expand its lawsuit against the City of L.A., according to a report from the Associated Press. The family made the request in a 94-page motion filed with the court that alleges a pattern of police involvement in incidents with rap stars. The family is also now suggesting that rogue LAPD officer Rafael Perez was on duty at the Peterson Automotive Museum the night Biggie was shot. The family has argued that an attorney for the city, Vincent Marella, admitted in a July 5th hearing that Perez was involved in the shooting that night while in uniform and on duty. However, according to the AP report, the transcripts from that day show that Marella was only quoting an informant’s statement. Perez is not named in the new lawsuit, nor are David Mack, Suge Knight or Amir Muhammad, all of whom have in the past been accused of having a hand in the murder.
