New_bet_logo.jpgThe BET cable channel has announced that the first-annual BET Hip Hop Awards show will debut on the network in November. The network's president of entertainment, Richard Hudlin, announced the new show at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena on Tuesday (July 11), according to MultiChannel News. The new show, which will be hosted by Comedian Katt Williams, will focus solely on hip-hop, whereas the current BET Awards encompass different genres of music like R&B and Gospel. Also announced that day were the cancellation of the network's controversial late night video show Uncut, and special daily news coverage that will begin on August 7, leading up to the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
