BET Announces Hip Hop Awards, Cancels Uncut

New_bet_logo.jpgThe BET cable channel has announced that the first-annual BET Hip Hop Awards show will debut on the network in November. The network’s president of entertainment, Richard Hudlin, announced the new show at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena on Tuesday (July 11), according to MultiChannel News. The new show, which will be hosted by Comedian Katt Williams, will focus solely on hip-hop, whereas the current BET Awards encompass different genres of music like R&B and Gospel. Also announced that day were the cancellation of the network’s controversial late night video show Uncut, and special daily news coverage that will begin on August 7, leading up to the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

    I hate to say this, but BET needs to call their award show “The East Coast Awards”. You never see rappers from the south winning anything. (Except-T.I. and Y.Y. Twins) I think that we need an award show for southern rappers only. I mean look how that dedicated 10-whole minutes to the rappers from the 1980′s and never brought up Ice Cube and Too Short. These guys sold just as many albums as L.L. Cool J and Slick Rick.

And I only watch 106 for the new joint of the day and freestyle friday and to check out that fine ass Dominican Chic, other than that BET is goin soft, The fuckin show came on like at 3am in the fuckin morning. Fuck it Im sure someone will pick up the show on cable, Until then Fuck the New Program director. Guess I’ll have to look into to that Golden Girls shit too.

    First let me begin by saying I enjoyed BET Uncut, but no one cay say that they did not see this comming! The network had to do something b/c of the statement made at the awards show and the other assocated foolishness. The “man” put the show on long enough to get us hooked and now that it’s off the air all you will do is add either the Playboy channel’s or The Spice Network to your monthly cable or satelite dish bill. The show will be missed and never forgotten.

    Oh and by the way I suggest that those going to jack off to the Golden Girls get a copy of Trois II or get a bloody life.
