Missy to Star in Film About Her Life Story

missy.jpgUniversal Pictures and Robert Deniro’s Tribeca Films will be teaming up to bring Missy Elliot’s life story to the big screen. Elliot, a five-time Grammy Award winner, will play herself in the as-yet-titled film, which is still in the development stages, according to a studio spokeswoman. The Virgina native began her career as a member of the group Sista, but went solo after a deal with Jodeci member Devante Swing fell through. She eventually hooked up with Timbaland and went on to chalk up several hit songs and sell millions of records worldwide.
