With New York radio station Hot 97’s eviction still up in the air, a State Supreme Court Judge relaxed a number of strict visitation rules imposed by the building’s landlord following the shooting of Brooklyn rapper Gravy outside the building. Under the new agreement, artists are only allowed to enter the building alone and the station must notify the landlord four days in advance when an artist will be visiting. The station will also hire an armed security guard to patrol an hour before the guest’s arrival, as well as install a telephone outside the building with a direct line to the NYPD. A lawyer for Hot 97’s parent company, Emmis Communications, told the Associated Press that they were “pleased” with the decision because the original restrictions were preventing them from conducting business. However, a lawyer for the landlord said, “Ultimately, the only way to deal with this will be to have Hot 97 removed from the building.”
