LL Cool J’s Todd Smith Debuts at #6

llcoolj.jpgQueens hip-hop veteran LL Cool J’s 11th album, Todd Smith, will debut at #6 on the Billboard 200 Album chart, making for his lowest chart debut since 1997’s Phenomenon entered the chart at #7. Although Todd Smith sold 120,000 copies, it wasn’t enough to beat T.I.’s King, which sold 134,000 units and came in at #5 in its third week on the charts.

    Altho he’s not the “OLD” LL, he still has longevity. How many rappers can say that? He’s been in the game since he was 16, and yes, he’s changed his formula alot, but with artists in the game such as 50 cent, Ludacris, and T.I, he has too. Most of us are youngin’s, and he has seen the beginning of HIP HOP, and is even one of the lucky ones to still be ALIVE in this game. Shit, hip hop just ain’t the same no more. Muthfucas would rather go out and buy The Franchise boyz album, and snap their fingers to D4L then to support real music. How the fuck is niggas going number one on the billboard charts with tracks called “Laffy Taffy”? Shit amazes me.
