In a music industry first, Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse’s group Gnarls Barkley’s lead single “Crazy” has become the number-one song in the UK through digital downloads alone. Although the song’s single does not hit stores until today (April 3), 31,000 copies of the single were legally downloaded from the Internet. The rules were changed in March to allow legal Internet downloads to factor into chart positions. Last week’s number one single, Ne-Yo’s “So Sick,” sold only 25,000 copies, and is available both online and in stores. Gnarls Barkley’s album, St. Elsewhere, will be released April 24 in the UK and May 3 in North America.
