Four million viewers tuned in on Wednesday night (March 8th) for the premiere of the Ice Cube-produced reality series “Black. White.,” which chronicles the experiences of a White family and a Black family as each puts on Hollywood-style makeup to pass as members of the other race. Not only did the premiere beat out MTV’s “The Osbornes” as the highest-rated cable reality episode of all time, it also rated as the most successful launch of any show on cable TV. Ice Cube’s “Race Card” is the show’s theme song, signaling the 36-year-old’s return to rap. Cube’s new album, Laugh Now, Cry Later, will hit stores in June.
