cassidy.jpgOn Thursday (March 2nd), Philadelphia rapper Cassidy was released from the city’s Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility after serving out eight months of an 11 to 23 month sentence. After providing the guns that were used to murder 22-year-old Desmond Hawkins and wound two others in April 2005, he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and negligence for his role in the crime. Cassidy went to prison in June 2005, just after the release of his sophomore album, I’m A Hustla, and plans to return to the studio to record his third album shortly, according to a spokesperson.
