Drake made a lot of headlines when he popped up on LeBron James’ new HBO talk show, The Shop, and spoke out against Pusha-T ’s vicious Noah “40” Shebib name-drop in his Drizzy diss, “The Story of Adidon.” Speaking on the diss, Drizzy suggested that, by making fun of the producer’s multiple sclerosis, Pusha had crossed a line. Styles P, who came up during the feud between Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G., firmly disagrees.

Accompanied by Dave East, the Lox rapper spoke on Drizzy’s battle rap ethics during an appearance on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning yesterday (Oct. 16). He thinks the Toronto rapper should have been prepared for whatever came of his back-and-forth with Push and that Drizzy should have stayed away from the conflict if he wasn’t.

“You can’t expect in any type of warfare, any type, not just rap, ain’t no rules,” Styles says in the video. “You gotta go into it knowing anything could happen. That’s why your best bet is to not engage. Stay away from beef at all costs.”

If you've been keeping score, you know Styles' stance on battle rap is something Drizzy, who referenced Pusha-T's then-fiancée and current wife in his Pusha-T diss, "Duppy Freestyle," doesn't support.

“People love to say, like rap purists and people who just love confrontation, they love to say, 'Aye there’s no rules in this shit.' But there are fucking rules in this shit," the 6ix God told LeBron in the latest episode of The Shop. "And I’m gonna tell you something: It’s like, I knew something was gonna come up about my kid. They had to add the deadbeat thing to make it more appealing, which is fine. I understand that. Even that, I was like, OK. The mom and dad thing, whatever. You don’t even know my family," Drizzy continued.

While Drake admitted that "The Story of Adidon" was a "great chess move," he also says the line dissing 40, a person with whom Drake has made music with for years, crossed the line.

"But I’ma tell you, wishing death on my friend that has MS—I study rap battles for a living. Now when you mention defenseless people who are sick in the hospital, that passed away, that really sent me to a place where I just believed then, and believe now, that there’s just a price that you have to pay for that.”

Pusha clearly didn't feel the same way, and neither does Styles. "Something you’re asking him to do is not follow tradition," says Styles, who dropped off his Beloved joint project with Dave East almost two weeks ago. "Pusha-T is not a new rapper, he’s been around for a while. There’s no rules in this. He’s heard it all when he’s heard beef."

In a bit of irony, Pusha-T has since revealed that 40 may have played a role in the revealing of Drake's son, which was something Push made the focus of "The Story of Adidon." Appearing on The Joe Budden Podcast, Pusha claimed that he learned about Drizzy's son, one people believe Drake was keeping secret, through a woman 40 was sleeping with. Wild stuff.
