Juice Wrld and Ski Mask The Slump God Give Tips on How to Avoid the Abyss

If you listen to enough music from Juice Wrld, you know the rapper often talks about the abyss. An abstract concept, Juice Wrld and Ski Mask The Slump God shed some light on the abyss during a recent interview with Montreality published on July 10.

Calling the abyss a place where everyone is trapped, the "Lucid Dreams" rapper offered a few examples of the concept. "A person goes to a D1 college, they spend all this money to get a degree, they don’t even do the shit they got the degree for, and they work in an office every day until they die. He or she is in the abyss," he said.

Juice says the abyss can also be a toxic relationship where one of the partners is controlling. "She is the gatekeeper to the abyss that you're in and you have to get out of that by leaving her," he added.

Ski Mask also added his thoughts about the abyss, saying one could be awake or they could be asleep in the abyss. "There's no way to explain it. You can't wake somebody up," the 2018 XXL Freshman said. "You literally have to go through something in life or wake yourself up," Ski Mask said about getting out of the abyss. "If you're lost in the sauce you're in the abyss," Juice Wrld added.

The rapper's also touched on Drake, calling the Toronto MC one of the gatekeepers of the abyss that is the rap game. "Drake has a lot to do with the culture," Ski Mask added.
