Florida Rapper Yungeen Ace Claims He Was Shot Eight Times While Shielding Friends From Shooter

Tragedy strikes Jacksonville, Fla. On Tuesday (June 5), four young men were shot while leaving Jacksonville's Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse in the city's St. Johns Town Center. Of the group, only Yungeen Ace, a Floridia rapper with a growing buzz, survived.

According to CBS Jacksonville affiliate, the deceased victims include the following: Trevon Bullard, 18, of Orange Park, Fla.; Royale D’Von Smith Jr., 18, of Jacksonville; Jercoby Da’Shad Groover, 19, of Orange Park.

Yungeen, born name Keyontae Bullard addressed the quadruple shooting, which a friend of the shooting victims say happened after an argument, on his Instagram account.

In a series of posts Yungeen uploaded to his Instagram account, the rapper claims that he was shot eight times while attempting to shield his friends from a hail of bullets. "8 shots to my body...God still got me here," he wrote in one part of his IG story. In another, he indicates that he attempted to shield one of his friends, someone he calls "23," during the attack.

An extended look at Yungeen's Instagram story helps rein in the tragedy. There are photos of the rapper's friends hanging out and enjoying what looks like a summer day. In other clips, there is actual footage of his friends while they were alive.

In a touching note, Yungeen also claims to have been contacted by YoungBoy Never Broke Again after the horrific shooting. He provides a screenshot of the FaceTime call, which does, in fact, include YoungBoy. "@nba_youngboy called me told me I got da power." Yungeen reports that Mista Cain also called him after the shooting.
