Before the 2018 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting has officially launched, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2018 XXL Freshman cover.

Blessed with tight rhymes and apt comparisons to Fabolous, Yuri Joness is the hope of Amityville, N.Y.'s rap scene. He broke out with his 2016 track "Same Dude," he's continued to showcase a hard-earned flow on tracks like "Same Shit." With millions of SoundCloud streams, it doesn't look like he's going to be letting anyone down any time soon.
