Jay Critch Raps About His Come Up in Funkmaster Flex Freestyle

Jay Critch continues to prove that he is one of the top rap contenders on the rise, as he spits a new freestyle for Funkmaster Flex. While visiting the veteran DJ at Hot 97 in New York City this week, the Rich Forever Music signee shows off his lyricism on the epic freestyle.

The rising MC's performance is backed by Jay-Z "Ignorant Shit" beat with Beanie Sigel off of the Brooklyn rapper's 2007 American Gangster album. Keeping things short and sweet for the freestyle, Critch spits a slew of catchy metaphors while reading lyrics off his phone. He reflects on his come up into success.

"I always knew this is what it would be like," he raps. "Yeah, we was so stuck up on that street life/Now I'm shining hard, chain remind me of the street lights/I'm dropping straight hits like Floyd in the street fight/New money make me sleep tight, I dream of this shit/On stage with The Game, crowd screaming and shit."

The Brooklyn entertainer is gearing up for a busy 2018, as he will be a guest feature on his label head Rich The Kid's upcoming debut album, The World Is Yours.
