A few days after dropping his latest single "Heads Up Eyes Open" featuring Rick Ross and Yummy Bingham, Talib Kweli returns with the video for the song.

The powerful song gets an equally powerful video, telling the story of a father who works a nine-to-five job, while his son is on the streets. According to Kweli, the song was inspired by an old friend named Headqcourterz who passed away years ago.

According to the rapper, before his death, Headqcourterz would always tell people "heads up, eyes open" when saying goodbye. "This phrase has stuck with me and become a guide thru my career and life," he added. "Produced by J. Rhodes, ‘Heads Up, Eyes Open’ is a song dedicated to the memory of Headqcourterz. It is a song about how faith informs the way an artist moves and creates. It was a pleasure to be joined by Rick Ross and Yummy Bingham, two of my favorite artists.”

Up next for Talib, the rapper will release his next album Radio Silence on Nov. 17. According to a tweet from Kweli, the album is expected to include features from Kaytranada, Alchemist, Amadeus, Jay Electronica, Waka Flocka and more.
