Gucci Mane continued his transformative post-jail release career when he took the stage to help perform Fifth Harmony's hit single, "Down," at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (Aug. 27). He and the pop group took home the VMA for Best Pop earlier in the show.

Fifth Harmony began their performance without Gucci, flaunting their slickly choreographed dance moves in front of a lively VMA audience. Of course, the energy shot to a new level when Guwop popped up onstage to perform his verse. From the looks of the faces in the crowd, a dope time was had by all.

For Gucci, who was sitting in a jail cell last year, this marks just another entry into what's been a wildly successful last few months. Since getting out last year, the East Atlanta rapper's been dropping projects right and left, and he performed "Down" with Fifth Harmony on Good Morning America. Salute to him.

Gucci's cameo came after an electric two-song set from Kendrick Lamar and a surprise “XO Tour Lif3” performance from Ed Sheeran and Lil Uzi Vert. Post Malone and Kyle are also still set to take the stage. Should be dope.
