Frank Ocean Joins Tyler, The Creator in New York City Performance

Riding the considerable momentum of his newly released Flower Boy album, Tyler, The Creator teamed with Footlocker and Converse to deliver a secret show at the studio in New York City's Webster Hall. If you were one of the first 100 people to cop Tyler's new Converse kicks, you were allowed into the show, which featured surprise appearances from Frank Ocean and A$AP Rocky. Peep bits of the performance below.

In the bit of footage we see, which comes courtesy of New York Times music critic Jon Caramanica, we see Ocean pull up just in time to perform his part of Tyler's Flower Boy cut, "Where This Flower Blooms." From what we can tell, the crowd was definitely feeling Ocean's surprise appearance.

For his part, Rocky pulled up to perform "Telephone Calls" and "Who Dat Boy" with Tyler, and to what should be the surprise of no one, the crowd was all the way into his part of the set. In an interesting bit, Tyler also gave a bit of props to Rocky, saying he was against touring with the A$AP Mob rapper at first, but he was glad he eventually came around.

"I remember when I dropped Cherry Bomb and [Rocky] put out his other shit," Tyler explained. "This nigga said, 'I don't wanna go on tour unless I tour with Tyler.' I remember saying, instantly because I'm so edgy, 'Fuck that shit, I ain't touring with that nigga.' Long story short, we end up touring, and this nigga put a fucking fire on everything I was making and sparked some new shit and just made me make way better music."

Throughout his set, Tyler performed songs from all three of his albums, including Wolf, Cherry Bomb and, of course, Flower Boy, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 106,000 copies in its first week of release.
