The glow-up of Cardi B continues. On Sunday night (Aug. 27), the Bronx-bred rapper took the stage at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards pre-show to turn in an energetic live rendition of "Bodak Yellow," a single that recently shot up to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Beneath the glow of bright multi-colored stage lights, Bardi showed the whole world the sort of charisma that propelled her to the VMAs pre-show in the first place, strutting across the stage like she owned it. She pretty much did, and the crowd definitely seemed more than a little into it.

Cardi's performance is just the first bit of what should be a huge night for hip-hop at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. For the event, Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane, Post Malone and more are all scheduled to take the stage for electrifying performances at one point or another. We can't wait. K. Dot is nominated for a whopping eight VMAs this year, with his ultra-inventive visual for "Humble" being the vid that secured him the noms.

Gucci, Young Thug, The Weeknd, Khaled, Bryson Tiller and more will also be up for awards on the night. Be sure to check back with XXL as the winners at the 2017 VMAs are announced throughout the night, beginning at 8 p.m. EST.
