The hip-hop music video world is saturated with examples of overplayed themes and imagery. So even a slight visual switch up and direction can go a long way. This week, South Carolina MC Nick Grant does more than that in his new music video for "Bouncin'."

In the new video, Nick Grant's Chevy breaks down in front of a house. But to welcome him are two girls out of The Adams Family with threatening faces. Nick raps his way around the house, as the video gets cut with grisly scenes like an eyeball dropping into a glass and blood dripping from one of the girls' mouths as she eats.  The eerie production and shots of carnival acts like a fire-eater combine to create a sense of discomfort and suspense like the FX show American Horror Story. Nick also joins the house's residents for a nice meal of questionable food.

Nick has some big live dates coming up. he will be performing at Made in America in September for the first time as well as joining Lauryn Hill and Nas on September 23 at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Fla. He already proved that he can handle a set while battling a cold in his recent performance for NPR Music's Tiny Desk series.

Since releasing his last album Return of the Cool, Nick has also been working on a new project. He made an appearance on Royce 5'9"'s new mixtape The Bar Exam 4.
