Now that Jack White, T Bone Burnett and Robert Redford's show American Epic has wrapped up, we've been slowly getting clips from the tapings. Today, we get a special live performance of "One Mic" with Nas and a three-piece band, led by Jack White. Watch the video below.

It opens with this version of the song's writing credits: Nas, Chucky Thompson (the original Hitmen producer who made the beat for Nas' fifth album Stillmatic) and Jack White. Nas is backed by a piano, upright bass and drums. It would have been interesting to watch the rehearsals for this song since they cleverly wrote the beat out for each band member. They transform the otherwise smooth beat into a stronger driving force in this latest cover. And as with the original track, Nas' voice and conviction grow stronger throughout the track.

Nas was among Beck, Elton John, Alabama Shakes, Willie Nelson, the late Merle Haggard and others as featured artists on American Epic. It was a three part series that paid tribute to the Carter Family, Charlie Patton, Mississippi John Hurt and more with recording equipment from the ’20s. Nas also covered "On The Road Again" with Jack White for the series.

On his own, Nas has announced a tour with Lauryn Hill and an almost convincing claim that his new album will drop in the coming weeks. DJ Khaled also revealed a new Nas verse to appear on his next album, Grateful.

American Epic aired on PBS as well as BBC. You can watch full episodes here and the performance of "One Mic" below.
