Bump J Appears in First Video in Eight Years in “Good 2 Be Home”

Once rappers get out of jail, the excitement for new songs is palpable. When Bump J was released from prison back in April, real ones in Chicago knew that one of its own had come home. In return, he's kept his fans happy with a new video for "Good 2 Be Home."

The video is his first since he was sentenced to serve 10 years back in 2009. The direction from A Zae Production eases the viewer into Bump J's image. It's a simple video that features a Rolls-Royce, a clean-cut Bump J in Just Don's Air Jordan 2 and beautiful shots of his hometown Chicago. It's also a good opportunity to get caught up with life of Bump J since he's become a free man.

While he's been gone, some things have changed, including business relations. He claims in the song that when his agents told him they were dropping him, he replied with a swift "Fuck you" and a stone cold face. He continues, "Million dollar deals down the drain/Still got a name/Still got my integrity/We know that'll never leave." He also gives his version of the history for the local hip-hop scene by spitting, "Me and 'Ye put the city on before it was Twista/Before him was Common and Kellz/We owe them niggas/Now my youngstas holdin' it down and I'm rollin' wit' 'em."

The song was his first release since he left prison. He's also appeared on a track with Pusha T and Yo Gotti as well as been in the studio with Jeremih and Rockie Fresh.
