Young Dolph Makes It Rain in New Video “In Charlotte”
Both songs reside on the Memphis rapper's most recent release Bulletproof, and both autobiographical tracks offer some insight into the shooting incident that occurred in Charlotte in February, where the SUV Dolph was riding in was shot at over 100 times after leaving an event during CIAA Weekend.
In the new visual, Dolph utilizes footage from his trip to Charlotte. He also spends most of the clip in the strip club making it rain, while recounting the wild incident. "They started shootin', we didn't even break a sweat (ha)/April Fools, the trick's on you bitch (April Fool's)/You playin' checkers lil' boy, I'm playin' chess (bullshit)/I just scored again boy, all nets (hey, hey)/Paper Route, we got now and next (for real)," he spits.
After spending his rap career on the indie grind, Dolph recently revealed that he would be open to linking up with a major label. "Me in my position, music ain’t my only focus," he recently told The Breakfast Club. It’s like the main key that’s leading to everythang else, but it ain’t my main focus. I’m a CEO. I got a whole record label. I got six artists. All of them hard. Dolph writing movies. Dolph into fashion. These folks having a billion dollars. Dolph finna get ready to get that billion dollars. I ain’t thinking 20 years, 15 years. Nah, I’m thinking ‘bout four years, five years.”
