Roc Marciano is respected as one of the Big Apple's most gifted traditional MC's, but that doesn't mean he's against the newer generation of rappers. He said as much in a recent interview with Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg.

"I'm a big Lil B fan. I like Lil B a lot," the Rosebudd's Revenge artist says around the 6:45 mark in the video below. "Some of the new guys I don't know, you'll probably have to name names. I like some of this music, man, that people are making. You know, I like Young Thug."

After the surprising revelation, Roc also mentions that he's impressed with DAMN., the latest album from Kendrick Lamar. In that sense, he's pretty much just like the rest of the world.

Roc also discusses the unique space he occupies in hip-hop, his desire to record with MF Doom and Ghostface Killah and the benefits of recording in California.

"Being on the West Coast recording," he explains, "I don't have none of the New York distractions, you know what I'm saying? I don't got my normal, like, crew and people coming around and stuff like that. I don't have to deal with none of that stuff. So when I'm in L.A. or in the Bay, I got a clear mind--and the weather's beautiful."
