Migos got to perform their song "Emmitt Smith" in front of the man himself. The legendary Dallas Cowboys running back attended Migos' recent show in Houston and got to turn up to his namesake record. You can see Smith thoroughly enjoying himself during the performance in the above video.

Migos' ability to entertain the NFL Hall of Famer is a little good news for the group in the midst of some controversy. The trio drew the ire of many fans for their comments about Makonnen coming out as gay.

“Damn, Makonnen!” Quavo said in a Rolling Stone interview. “They supported him?” Offset followed that up by saying Makonnen got support “because the world is fucked up.” Takeoff added, “This world is not right.”

Quavo claimed Migos had no problem with gay people, but questioned Makonnen's credibility. Once the group got wind of all the bad feedback, they issued an apology.

"We always been about being original and staying true," Migos said in a statement. "Staying true to yourself goes a long way. We are all fans of Makonnen's music and we wish he didn't feel like he ever had to hide himself. We feel the world is fucked up that people feel like they have to hide and we're asked to comment on someone's sexuality. We have no problem with anyone's sexual preference. We love all people, gay or straight and we apologize if we offended anyone."

The controversy comes at a bad time for Migos, who are in the middle of the most successful run of their careers. Quavo, Takeoff and Offset's new album Culture just topped the Billboard 200 by moving 131,000 total equivalent copies.
