Anderson .Paak is on a roll. Yesterday (Feb. 7), the 2016 XXL Freshman teamed up with The Recording Academy and dropped a gospel version of his song, "Come Down."

In the three-minute video (which you can view below), the California artist harkens back to his roots, reclaiming his spot as the drummer in his local gospel choir, where he first began his musical career. The churchgoers are "overcome by the power of music," as the YouTube description states, as people of all ages get up and start to move at the 1:20 mark of the clip.

The idea for the video came from .Paak along with J'rese Mitchell, a family friend and gospel music director. The new version of the song is part of this year's Believe in Music campaign from The Recording Academy, which sheds light on "the positive impact of music."

Evan Greene, Chief Marketing Officer of the Recording Academy, tells Complex, “Our intention with this year’s brand campaign is to highlight the inspirational and motivational power of music and its positive impact in light of the challenging times that we face.

He continues, “This latest spot in the series captures music’s undeniable force to connect us and bind us together through a shared, collective community. The Recording Academy strives to reinforce music’s ability to unify, and this film serves to powerfully amplify this message.”

Anderson .Paak is nominated for Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2017 Grammy Awards, slated to take place Sunday, Feb. 12. Anderson will also perform at the Grammys, along with A Tribe Called Quest.
