Troy Ave Creates His Own Version of ‘Power’ for “Chuck Norris” Video

Troy Ave was inspired to make his own version of the Starz series Power. The Brooklyn rapper imagines a new show called Powder for his "Chuck Norris" music video. The visual kicks off with an extended intro to set up the plot before jumping into the Free Troy Ave track. The former XXL Freshman spits his bars while dealing with a plot against his empire.

"Unofficial niggas always hate on the official/I ain’t that kind when I blow it, ain’t a whistle/I am that kind that stand over you with pistols/It is what it is and I feel no remorse/Been married to the game and we still ain’t divorced," he raps.

Things have not been good for Troy Ave since he was released on $500,000 bond following a deadly shootout at Irving Plaza in May. The rapper's lawyer, John Stella, claims Troy Ave is “barely getting by” due to all the restrictions of his release.

Troy Ave has a 11 p.m. curfew and must stay out of any nightclubs and concert halls. He is also not allowed outside of New York state line or the five boroughs. As a result, the "All About the Money" rapper has been been unable to tour.

John Stella said his client was making $6,000 to $10,000 a show. Now, Troy Ave's earning potential has been completely gutted. The lawyer argued, “It’s hard to release music if he can’t promote it with live performances."
